Wedding Details :: Bridesmaid Gifts

When creating a budget, set aside 1-3% of your budget for bridal party gifts. The percentage amount depends on how many bridal party members you have and what you will pay for on the day of (ie. manicure, pedicure, make-up, hair etc). Why are bridal party gifts given? To thank your loved ones for being a part of your day. Find something that will fit your loved one. No need to get matchy-matchy on the gifts. But stick to the same price point for all your bridal party members, besides your Maid of Honor/Best Man, they should receive an extra treat.

Stay clear of “Bridesmaid” or “Matron of Honor” titled items. After the wedding, your girlfriends will never use that item again. However, monogrammed items are a classy way to personalize an item. This collection of handmade gifts found on Etsy feature gift ideas for your gals that will be used over and over again.

Hi Alysia, thank you so much for blogging about my clutch. It’s so awesome when people pick up your item and like it enough to tell others. I really appreciate it

Thanks for featuring my golden leafy earrings!
I couldn’t agree more about your gifting advice… I try to stay open-minded, but do cringe a little when I see wedding party gifts monogrammed with “Bridesmaid” or “Maid” – not that those are bad, it’s just not personal at all. One of the best gifts I received for being in a wedding was a pretty necklace (picked out specially for me) and every time I wear it, I remember the wedding in all it’s glory.

When I got married, I made Swarovski crystal earrings for all my bridesmaids. I put these in the monogrammed velvet cases from Pottery barn with some soaps and French macaroons that I made. They all loved their gifts (or at least they told me they did!)

Hi Shellie,
I am glad you liked the earrings. I updated the url, so it now lists a new listing of the same pair. Also, Etsy artists usually welcome custom requests. Contact your favorite seller and ask!
