It has been over a week since my last post. Eek! The new year took me by surprise and I am feeling overwhelmed. I didn’t post about Christmas, New Years or my wedding anniversary. Goodness! Where does the time go? Those posts will come in due time. However, today’s Wedding Dress Wednesday post is in the works, but will not debut until later today. Have a lovely Wednesday!

Update :: Website (future) Changes

This week has flown by. I’ve been working with several website designers to see if we make a good match. Now I think I found my designer, I am trying to figure out what I want to do with the site. With my fingers crossed, the blog should get a makeover before the start of the new year. How exciting! Along with the virtual face lift, give a commitment to provide fresh and inspiring posts on a regular basis.

In addition to this mid-week craziness, Halloween is here! With several invitations to parties around Portland, my husband and I (Clark Kent and Superman, respectively) will be out and about. What are you dressing up as? Or if you are not dressing up, what was your favorite childhood costume or memory? My favorite costume was Cleopatra (age with white and gold pointed-toe flats (adult shoes!). I would wear those shoes now. Sigh.

Wedding Dress Wednesday :: Break

Updates :: Blog Changes

Happy September! September is one of my favorite months. Well, for one, it is my birth month. How can you not like birthdays?! It is also the month that Kevin and I first meet. Seven years ago, we decided to make it official. Thus, Septiembre holds a special place in my heart. In honor of September, I bought a domain. Yay! Clap. Whistle. Cheer! It is official, http://prosttothehost.com will direct you to the blog. I have more changes coming in the next few months, but patience is key. I know being patient sucks. Update :: I am back

I am back! Well, I’ve been back for almost a week. But I’ve been ignoring the fact that I have to face reality. That includes my absent Wedding Dress Wednesday Post. I couldn’t drag myself to the computer and work when it was gorgeously hot outside. So, please excuse my delinquent behavior and I promise to be more committed. But I’ve been working on a few posts, so there should be some new and exciting posts coming up. Weee! Have a great Sunday!

In the mean time, here is a picture of Kevin and me enjoying our fresh pineapple juice margaritas in Puerto Vallarta. Too bad we don’t have a time stamp on the picture to confirm it was 10:30 am. It doesn’t matter. I was on vacation!

Update :: Memorial Weekend

Happy Memorial Weekend!! I hope you enjoyed an extra long weekend. For me, it was nice to catch up on projects I’ve been meaning to finish. Since the last few weeks have been crazy. May is a ridiculously full of celebrations for my family: four birthdays (my husband, my mother-in-law, great-grandma and my dad), Mother’s Day and Memorial Weekend. Needless to say, we were hosting or attending an event each weekend. I *think* my schedule will be going back to normal and regular postings shall resume. But with the gorgeous weather and my cabin-like fever running high, it will be hard to stay indoors.

Update :: Google Reader, Pom Shop and Twitter

Hey beautiful! Did you know on average, I receive 150 readers. Which makes my smile so hard, I create wrinkles in the corners of my eyes. I know blogs get thousands of hits a day. I am just a small bean in the pot, so one day I may reach that level. For now, I am satisfied. Of the 150 readers, I have several Google Readers. :::waves hi::: Yes, Google Reader is an extraordinary idea. It lists the newest posts in all your favorite blogs and allows you to read them at your leisure all in ONE SPOT. BUT, there are a few downfalls of GR. You miss the tabs at the top of the page. Did you notice I added a shop? Yes, I am hocking my wares. Sick huh?! 2) You can’t see the comments (boo!). I get some random ones from people selling their weight loss powders. Are they trying to tell me or my brides something? 3) You miss the Twitter Updates (unless you are a fellow Twitter follower..then tweet, tweet to you!). 4) I try to update on a daily basis, but my “Daily Compliment” is just for you.

All in all, I hope you visit in “person” every once in a while and leave a comment or two. Why? Because I care about your presence and want to know what you think. Even if that means, telling me your hatred for dress #2 or why you hate anything Martha Stewart. I promise not to cry (in front of you).

Update :: Featured Product – Cricut

In the crafting world, I love all things paper. It is my preferred “medium”. I used to be a big scrapbooker (insert: nerd alert) in college. Then work and post-bachelor classes took over my life. Now that things are somewhat settled and no BIG moments are happening (i.e. getting married, buying a home, getting a dog etc), I am able to kick about in the world of paper. Kevin, my husband, thought the Cricut would be a nice birthday present for me (note: my birthday is in September). Eeekkk!! He pretty much rocks my world. Of course, I already had the list of projects I wanted to do. In 1 minute, I had 20 two inch ‘m’s beautifully cut. Why do I freak out? Because in the past, I spent hours upon hours cutting individual circles and letters. My hands would cramp up, but the end result always made me pleased. So the pain was worth it. But now, it reduces my work load and I am able to become more productive (and complain less about my hands, thus making my husband happier). Maybe the Cricut was more for him than me? Naw.

The Cricut machine magically moves across the paper in a dancing like manner, almost hypnotic. I feed the machine more paper just so I can watch it cut. Maybe I should call in sick? Just kidding. I need to work, so I can buy more cartridges.

Please ignore my moments of insanity, I confuse insanity with bliss.

Update :: Out of Town

I won’t be posting next week, as I am committed to making sure every detail is in place. Once things are triple confirmed, I will be watching an intimate ceremony of two souls coming together. Then celebrating with the bride and groom by dancing to the couples’ favorite reggae songs and enjoying a a fruity drink on the beach in the Virgin Islands. However, I promise to have a “Real Wedding” of Jess & John very soon! Bon voyage! Until then, here is a sneak peak of two DIY projects I’ve been working on (Cake Table Banner and Rehearsal Dinner Menu Cards).
